Who are the REAL WRITERS Team?

We are a small organisation and plan to remain so, in order to continue to tailor our unique service to the individual needs of each client. All our tutors are established working writers; some of them have won or been nominated for major awards in their specialist areas. All are also experienced teachers.

FICTION of various lengths and genres is the most popular form with our clients, and we have several tutors well equipped to offer support to the aspiring fiction writer.

Viv Doyle is a prolific writer of popular women's fiction, both short stories and novels.

Meriel Patrick is commissioning editor for a small specialist publishing house, and a published short story writer in her own right.

David Heptonstall is an award-winning science fiction/fantasy writer, the winner of several short story prizes.

POETRY is covered David Duncombe, a highly experienced published poet who has edited a small press magazine.

Our JOURNALIST Lynne Patrick has been published in the Guardian and the Independent, freelances for a leading regional paper and has been extensively published in national magazines.

Our SCRIPTWRITING tutor Richard Hurford writes on commission for prestigious regional theatres and Radio 4, and is well versed in the techniques and requirements of television.

We don't have a regular children's writer on the team at the moment, but could track one down on request!
