The basic settings that cover all FTP programs are:

• Host Address: www.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain with the name of your website address).
• User ID: The username supplied to you when you ordered your account.
• Password: The password supplied to you when you ordered your account.
• Login type: should be set to Normal.
• Transfer type: Should be set to Auto Detect. If this is not an option, then readable files such as html, cgi and text files should be set to ASCII. Non readable files such as images and databases should be set to Binary.
